Working with Upaok
How does Upaok match developers to projects?
We match on three axes: technology stack, timezone overlap with your core hours, and prior project context (e.g. fintech experience, healthcare compliance, B2B SaaS). The lead engineer is staffed first; the rest of the pod is matched against the lead's working pattern.
Where are your developers based?
Our network spans 40+ countries across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. We can guarantee at least 4 hours of overlap with any business-day timezone.
How fast can you start?
From a signed agreement to first standup is typically 5–10 business days for team augmentation, and 2–3 weeks for a full-stack product team.
What's the smallest engagement you take on?
We work with engagements from a single 2-week discovery sprint up to multi-year product partnerships. Our most common shape is a 12-week MVP build.
Pricing & contracts
How is pricing structured?
We use time-and-materials with monthly invoicing for ongoing work, and fixed-bid for short discovery sprints. Rates depend on seniority and timezone, but typical Upaok engineers run from $55–$130/hr.
Do you do fixed-bid projects?
Only for tightly-scoped work — a discovery sprint, an architecture audit, a defined integration. For product builds, time-and-materials with weekly demos is honest.
What happens if I'm not happy with an engineer?
We replace at no cost. Every engagement has a 30-day fit window and a documented performance review at week 6.
Who owns the code?
You do. Source code, documentation, infrastructure, and accounts are yours throughout the engagement and after handoff.
